Filming Tyson Fury & Dillian Whyte's Live Boxing Match with Sony’s HDC-F5500

Our new HDC-F5500 live system camera was used for the first time shooting a live sports event in Europe filming Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte's widely awaited boxing clash on April 23 2022. We were excited to partner with BT Sport for the event.

The camera’s boasts a highly sensitive Super 35mm frame to achieve a cinematic look but in a perfect live production workflow. The global shutter sensor also means there's no distortion, so it was perfect was shooting against the LED wall for the event.

The boxing fight had the HDC-F5500 seamlessly connected into the existing camera infrastructure within the EMG UK OB van, with minimal engineering effort. The HDCU-5500 output UHD Slog3 live images into the rest of the production chain. The images were then transmitted to the home through BT Sport’s infrastructure.
