In this video I'll share my tips on simple ways to serve a slice. We'll start off by making a delicious caramel slice, then once it's ready we'll go over how to cut it beautifully without letting the chocolate crack. Then we'll talk about basic slice plating principals, and show a few simple examples. To finish things off I'll give a quick demonstration of how you can use a slice as a quick plated dessert for when those unexpected visitors arrive on your doorstep.

===== RECIPE =====

= Caramel Slice (Base) =
- 1 1/2 cups (225g /  5 1/4 oz) flour
- 3/4 cup (60g  /  1 1/2 oz) desiccated coconut
- 3/4 cup (135g  / 3oz) brown sugar
- 3/4 cup (185g  / 4 oz) butter, melted

= Caramel filling =
- 1/3 cup (115g  / 2 1/2 fl oz) golden syrup
- 1/2 cup (125g  / 4oz) butter, chopped
- 800g (2 cans  / 28oz) sweetened condensed milk

= Chocolate topping =
- 275g (10oz) dark chocolate
- 4 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Oven temperature 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit)
