From the archives: California's “Night Stalker” serial killer sentenced to death

Richard Ramirez, known as the notorious Los Angeles "Night Stalker," was sentenced to death on Nov. 7, 1989. Ramirez was convicted of 13 counts of murder, five attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries. He died of natural causes on June 7, 2013, while awaiting execution in California.
