RMS Lusitania was a British ocean liner that was torpedoed and sank by a German submarine in World War I. She is mainly the reason America got involved in the war. The ship was for a short time the largest passenger ship in the world until her sister ship Mauretania was built. Lusitania was launched by Cunard Line in 1906. This was when there was major competition for the shipping industries. She crossed the Atlantic 202 times before she was sunk on Friday 7 May 1915 by German U-boat U-20.
A mostly accurate movie was made in the year 1998, just after Titanic, depicting the sinking. These are some scenes cut from the movie and played in reverse.
