Today, we are going to check the engine oil pressure with an analog gauge tester. We made simple, step by step to follow tutorial. How to check oil pressure on your car. Simple Steps. As example vehicle we used VW Golf MK4 but the same precision applied to any vehicle.
You wanna see engine oil pressure:
Cold engine when it starts to raise up to 60-80 psi;
Warm up idle around 20 psi;
At 2000 RPM around 40 psi;
Gauge needle should be steady, not bouncing or jiggle itself, not depending from the engine idle speed;
oil pressure in most of the engines should be about 10 psi per every 1000 rpm.
