We don’t hate layovers anymore!
We don’t hate layovers anymore! Wanna know our secret? We LOOK for flights with long layovers in cool cities where we can go explore for a few hours.
In this video we show you how we spent a 5 hour layover in the beautiful city of Santiago, Chile. We hired a guide and a van (https://chileandvalleys.com) for our time there to make the most of it all and had an incredible day!
We started by visiting the Bicentenario park and explored the beauty of Chilean nature (including stopping to watch some black neck swans). Got an art lesson from Mussio Design (http://mussiodesign.com) who use these blue stones called lapis lazuli to create some incredible art and jewelry.
Then we saw the beauty of downtown Santiago, and headed up to San Cristóbal Hill to ride the cable cars to the top of the mountain for insane views! On the way back down we rode a different cable car (gondola style) on with some of our crew loved the adventure, and some were terrified of the heights!
We finished the day by eating dinner at El Galeon! There we were served an impressive dinner of traditional Chilean seafood including the biggest king crab we’ve ever seen! After we devoured our Chilean sea monster, we headed back to the airport to check back in for our connecting flight.
