Two high school students, Marinette and Adrien, have been chosen to become Paris's superheroes: Ladybug and Cat Noir. They possess Miraculouses, gems linked to their magical creatures (kwami) and they give them power. Their mission is to eliminate Hawk Moth who wants to take their Miraculous from them, so he is wreaking havoc on the city by creating villains. While Marinette and Adrien live their school lives while maintaining their identities. In school life, Marinette loves Adrien but can't tell him, so she improvises and acts awkward whenever he's around.
As for heroic life, Cat Noir loves Ladybug but annoys her, but Marinette prefers Adrien anyway! Over the course of the school year and their heroic adventures, Ladybug discovers many gentle qualities in Cat Noir, while Marinette grows closer to Adrien, and goes to great lengths to overcome her shyness.
