Kerry Blackshear scored the game-winning basket with 5.8 seconds remaining. Justin Robinson led the way with 20 points and 7 assists. Virginia Tech earned their first road victory over a top-5 opponent since 2009. Devon Hall led the Cavaliers with 16 points who suffered their first loss in the ACC.
