Monster Titan Triggerfish - Fly Fishing in Maldives (with Winston Boron III Plus and Nautilus X)

Please excuse some choice of words in the video, there was some knuckle busting moments, they hurt! Absolutely one of JW's most memorable fish fight. It's a very raw video and where JW can only give minimal line to this trigger surrounded by rock coral patches that it wants to get into. This is a huge fish as far as triggerfish go. Thanks to Martyn White @flickinfeathers for supplying some of the footages. Even he says this is by far the biggest triggerfish he has ever seen. The pictures and video doesn't do it justice.

It took three casts to put the fly on target where the trigger sees it. To add to the suspense there were two decent size bluefin trevally circling the trigger and eating whatever was kicked out of the bottom by the feeding trigger.

Fly is a “disco crab” by fly fisher buddy Irhamy Ahmad. The Nautilus X reel performs flawlessly and the Winston Boron III Plus is a great rod to cast with, some of my favourite gear.
