Turn a laptop keyboard into a USB keyboard

This is a brief overview of the process to take an old laptop keyboard (in this case a Toshiba 1910 form c.1993) and converting it to behave like a USB keyboard. Why? Who cares, we can so we will. This is part of a larger project to drop a raspberry pi into an existing laptop, which will take a while.
