[4K] Messier 27

I spent all of last night imaging Messier 27 which is a nebula is approximately 1,360 light-years away from Earth and spans about 2.5 light-years across. It is characterized by its distinctive hourglass or dumbbell shape, which is created by the emission of gas from the central star as it nears the end of its life cycle. The central star of Messier 27 is a white dwarf, which is the remnant core of the original star. The nebula glows brightly in visible light due to ionized gas, predominantly hydrogen and oxygen, which is illuminated by the radiation from the central star.
