Easter work at Neville Hill, Leeds

Over Easter we were working in Neville Hill,
Leeds installing overhead line equipment and checking
they were all in place to get us another step closer to
greener trains between Manchester & York 🔋🚆

Lines between Leeds and Neville Hill were closed on
Easter Sunday to enable engineers to install new
overhead line equipment and two new pipelines
beneath the track to safely carry high voltage cables
under the railway. Teams also made full use of the line
closure to carry out core surveys of the ground and
structures along the railway.

This essential work will support the electrification of the
line east of Leeds and allow the future redesign of the
track layout, enabling faster, quieter, greener and more
frequent trains on this key line linking the cities of
Manchester, Leeds and York.
