What is Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication,
overview of Adaptive Multi-factor Authentication and how it works. What is the difference between Multi Factor Authentication and Adaptive MFA. the benefits, what it offers!. I'll also provide you with steps that organisations can take to implement Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication with the real-world examples of the organisations that have successfully implemented Adaptive MFA.
Multi-factor Authentication is a security method that uses two or more factors to confirm a user's identity to access any kind of resources such as application, online account etc, rather than just asking for a username and password.

There are several popular multi-factor authentication methods
knowledge factor, which means something the user knows, such as a password!,
Next is the possession factor, something the user has, such as a smart card!
Next is the inherent factor, which says, something the user is, such as a fingerprint!
Next one is time based one time password, it generates a series of numbers thru QR code scanning. One of the examples is Google authenticator.
Next is Push authentication, that sends notification over the network to the user's mobile device.
You all must have heard of secret questions, you can set the questions that users can answer to verify their identity.

Adaptive Multi factor Authentication also known as a risk-based authentication system.
Adaptive Multi-factor Authentication is a security system that uses machine learning algorithms to analyse various factors such as user’s behaviour, their location, device information and login history to determine the level of risk and adjust the authentication requirements accordingly.
This means that the system can automatically prompt users to provide additional forms of identification if the risk level is deemed to be high, or it can allow users to bypass certain authentication methods if the risk level is low.
Adaptive authentication takes advantage of real-time analytics to get a complete picture of the circumstances surrounding each login.

Device verification means, Is the user using their personal laptop instead of using a company-issued laptop? So this  checks if the user is using a trusted device.DEVOC
Location verification means, Is the user trying to access a system using a public network rather than the company's network? Or is the user in another time zone?
IP Address verification means, Is the employee connecting from a known IP? Or Is it info from another country?

Adaptive multi-factor authentication can help to increase the security of an organisation's systems and resources by making it more difficult for attackers to gain unauthorised access.

It can also provide a more convenient user experience by only requiring additional authentication factors when necessary, rather than every time a user logs in.

Overall, Adaptive MFA is an important tool for organisations that want to protect their systems and resources from unauthorised access, as it can provide an additional layer of security beyond a traditional username and password-based authentication system.

Multi-Factor Authentication is the present, and adaptive authentication is the future:
Dynamic/real-time security
New way of identity verification
Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) provides several benefits that can help organisations to increase the security of their systems and resources and improve the user experience.
Increases the Security
Prevents Unauthorised Access
Determine the types of authentication factors to use
Select right tools and technologies
Establish the level of risk tolerance
Implement and test the solution
Provide user training
Adaptive MFA is a critical component of a comprehensive security strategy and essential for ensuring the security of an organisation's systems and resources.
