Tirana is the capital of Albania and the most important economic, social and cultural center of the country. Today, over half a million people live in the city, ie about 20% of the whole of Albania, and what he was interested in is that the city has an increase in population for many years. This is best confirmed by the data from 1937, when only 35,000 people lived in the city. It is also interesting that a large number of citizens of different nations and religions live in the city, and the dominant religion is Islam, with about 55% of citizens who declare themselves as Muslims, while the rest are mostly Orthodox and Catholics.
This is also the greenest city in Southeast Europe, and a place with a large amount of content for both young and old. From numerous clubs, bars and cafes similar to those in Western European countries, to posh restaurants, theaters, galleries, museums and operas, this is a city where everyone will find something for themselves.
But apart from these things, Tirana, and even the whole of Albania, is known for the fact that during the communist regime and the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, over 700,000 bunkers of various sizes were built across the country, which can be seen both on the coast and in the mountains. and here in the city.
