Watch the maiden bus journey of KSRTC-Swift Volvo BS6 Sleeper bus from Trivandrum to Bangalore. In total four Volvo Sleeper buses were inaugurated by the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. They were flagged off by the CM on the 11th of April. Out of the four Volvo buses, three would be going via the Trivandrum - Kochi - Palakkad route whereas one would be going via the Madurai - Nagercoil route. The bus timings were 5:30 pm, 6 pm, 6:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. The last bus would be going via Nagercoil. The buses would then again be inaugurated in Bangalore as well by the Transport Minister. The livery of the bus is really nice keeping in theme with the state's culture.
I booked the 6 pm bus on the second bus and my bus was a Bypass rider, which means that it would not go inside every bus stand but bypass it. I have shown in the video how you can book the tickets online as well. There was also an offer as to whoever books the return ticket first who get a free return ticket which could be used anytime within 3 months. This bus journey had a lot of bus fans and Youtubers traveling as well so it was fun meeting other YouTubers as well. The Volvo bus is speed locked at 80 kmph. There was a bit of cat & mouse chase between the three Volvo buses. However, since its a new bus, the drivers were cautious while driving as well. The buses were delayed because of the inauguration. We reached Mysore Satellite bus stand at 12 pm exact which was quite late. But mainly due to the congested NH 66 road and the rains.
KSRTC-Swift, a transport company formed by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation to revive its fortunes, is set to start operation with a makeover on Monday. All buses have been painted orange with white designs. Both the crew members, driver-cum-conductor, will get a new uniform -- orange shirt and black pants. The shirt will have the emblem of KSRTC-Swift and the uniform sponsor
