The sparrow, also known as the pingai, is a type of small sparrow that belongs to the Passeridae family. Sparrows inhabit cities in very large numbers. Sparrow is a tame bird of all wild birds and has a high level of adaptation to its environment such as changing weather conditions, availability of food and predators. Therefore, sparrows are considered as birds that are not afraid to be near humans or are called human dominated ecosystems. No wonder, if this species is most commonly found in big cities in Indonesia. In general, the sparrow is small, brown-gray, fat, short tail, and has a strong beak. The food of this bird is seeds and small insects. Initially, the sparrow came from Europe, Africa, and Asia, then this bird was spread to Australia and America by residents. Currently the House Sparrow (sparrow species) is more commonly found in North America, Australia, and South America.
