Jurassic Park The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood television commercial from 1996.

"Jurassic Park: The Ride (Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure) is a water-based amusement ride based on the Steven Spielberg film Jurassic Park and Michael Crichton's novel located at Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride was researched and built as the film was still in its production phase and opened on June 21, 1996. Duplicates of the ride have since been built at Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Japan. A river rapids ride version of the attraction opened at Universal Studios Singapore in 2010." ~ wikipedia.org

"The Jurassic Park River Adventure (as it was originally known) first set sail Summer 1996 at a cost of $110 million. It remains the most expensive amusement ride of all time and actually cost twice as much as Jurassic Park the movie.

Design and development work on the ride first began in November 1990 – six years before the ride was opened, and incredibly over three years before the movie Jurassic Park was released (1993). Landmark Entertainment started work on the project in early 1991. Although a River ride features in the book Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, it was cut from the film during production. By this point, the decision had been taken to use a water-based ride at Universal Studios, so it went ahead, and the River Adventure had to wait until the third movie in the series.

RIDE STATISTICS

The volume of water making up the river: 1.4 million gallons
Number of ride “scenes”: 12

The 16 dinosaurs that populate the Jurassic Park world are a massive part of the ride’s success. All were designed and built by Sarcos in their facility in Utah before being painstakingly installed in the ride environment at Universal.

Jenna Fischer - Cameo at 0:02

Regina Marie "Jenna" Fischer (born March 7, 1974) is an American actress best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly on the NBC sitcom The Office, for which she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2007. She was also a producer for the show's final season.

Since then, Fischer has appeared in such films as Blades of Glory (2007), Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007), The Promotion (2008), Hall Pass (2011), and The Giant Mechanical Man (2012), a film directed by her husband, Lee Kirk. She also appeared as Rhonda McNeil in NBC's comedy-drama series You, Me and the Apocalypse. Fischer also starred in the ABC sitcom Splitting Up Together (2018–2019).

"She realized she had so much more she wanted to share, including lessons from her earliest days working as an extra in an ad for the “Jurassic Park” water ride at the Universal Studios theme park, which she booked only being in Los Angeles for 48 hours.

“The water ride doesn’t get you that wet, but for the sake of the commercial they had guys with hoses spraying us with water, and then at the end they brought out a water canon that shoots giant icy cold water balls at us,” Fischer recalls, adding that she was on the ride for 12 hours on that nonunion shoot..." ~ Variety 11/17/2017

Fischer's first book, The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, with an introduction by Steve Carell, was published in November 2017.
