Gauss Rifle

Two steel balls are placed on one side of a magnet. An incoming steel ball is accelerated towards the magnet. Hitting it the momentum is transferred to the second ball on the other side which escapes the magnetic attraction. This is repeated twice to gain a high output velocity.
