The real historical existence of
The real historical existence of Jesus of Nazareth has always been a matter of debate. We have two groups of sources regarding the historical existence of Jesus: Christian sources and non-Christian sources. In the two groups, there are sources with different degrees of closeness to the Jesus event.
Christianity and its founder were mentioned in extra-biblical literature many years before Tacitus, Suetonius or Pliny the Younger wrote. Around 52, thus closer to the events, a Greek historian named Thallus wrote a history of the Mediterranean world from the Trojan War to the present day. Unfortunately, this history has been lost, but it was known to another writer, Sextus Julius Africanus, who lived in the early part of the 3rd century.
In this video we look at some non-Christian sources and try to understand how they play a more important role than we imagine.
