On the auspicious occasion of Radha Ashtmi ('birth' of Radha Rani), Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj enlightens the devotees on the significance of Radha. To begin with, he explains the etymology of Radha's name. There are two meanings of the word Radha: 'one who worships Krishna' and the other is 'one who is worshipped by Krishna'. Although apparently self-contradictory, both are correct. Radha tattva is also mentioned in the Vedas. Radha is worshipped because Shree Krishna wishes to obtain Her footdust to place on His own head. Also, Radha is the giver of the great power by which Shree Krishna forgets all pleasures of Golok when He rests His head on Her lap. Shree Maharajji also explains that Radha and Krishna are one Divine existence that appears in two forms. They have one intellect, one mind, one soul and even the same features. So, there is no difference -- just like milk and its whiteness. No one can separate the whiteness from the milk. The Puranas also say that one who fulfills all the desires of all souls when they shed a few tears is known as Radha. The Jagadgurus have proved the validity of the Radha tattva.
