Remember to connect the Stator/alternator on the side of the key switch that is disconnected from the battery in key off position (not straight onto the battery).
Don't connect anything to the positive of the battery other than one wire to the key switch and the main wire to the starter motor. So that everything is disconnected when the key is off.
The switch wire for the starter motor is only connected to the battery in the key on position.
The "kill switch" (yellow and black) is connected from the cdi then to through the key switch to ground (the bike frame) this goes to the negative of the battery in the key off position.
This can be wired like this without worries because.
The power to the cdi is disconnected from the battery just like everything else in the key off position.
The Stator power for the coil is only there when the Stator is spinning & the "kill switch" or "off switch" just sends the electricity back to the battery via the path of less resistance and stops spark happening so the motor stops and then the Stator stops spinning and generating power.
The Start button is there with the ignition relay (big black rubber thing with thick wires) to stop the Start button needing to be very large so it won't melt.
If you leave the key on you will get a flat battery.
Have the kill switch on the handlebars so you can cut the engine in an emergency quickly.
The lights are switched in the negative to save wire and it is only ok to do that on a 12 DC negative automotive circuit.
!!##This is considered very dangerous and potentially illegal in medium voltage settings like a house and such all ways leave that stuff to a registered electrical worker.
The Stator is an AC circuit with a DC regulator don't worry about how that works to much if you are a beginner.
Don't cut the wires of any stator. connect a plug into it and wire it from there to make it easier to replace if needed.
Use quality wire crimping products and heat shrink.
Don't be a half ass about it because you could start a fire if you don't do a good job.
