The IWI Tavor TAR-21 is a select fire Israeli bullpup automatic rifle chambered in 5.56×45mm. It was designed by  Israel Military Industries (IMI) and manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) since 2001.

The IWI Tavor uses a long-stroke piston system as found in the American M1 Garand and the Russian AK-47. It is a standard-issue weapon of the Israeli Military and is used by various Special Forces around the world.

The Tavor uses a bullpup configuration, in which the receiver, bolt carrier group and magazine are placed behind the pistol grip. This shortens the firearm's overall length without sacrificing much of the barrel length. As a result, bullpup rifles have the overall length of a carbine (short rifle), but can achieve bullet velocities of a standard sized rifle if equipped with a rifle-length barrel.
