Kasteel Doorwerth

Tussen de heuvels van de Veluwe en de uiterwaarden van de Nederrijn ligt Kasteel Doorwerth. Een prachtig kasteel op een prachtige plek. Oorspronkelijk vooral als Jachtslot ingericht. Ooit particulier bezit van de familie Bentinck. Nu een museum over de verschillende perioden van het kasteel, de vernietiging, de wederopbouw en de huidige functie. Om het kasteel kun je een aardige wandeling maken. Ook voor kinderen is er het een en ander te doen. De tuinen zijn ook mooi en in het op het terrein gelegen restaurant kun je binnen of buiten op het terras  heerlijk eten of koffie drinken.
In het poortgebouw nestelt een aantal boerenzwaluwen. In deze film een impressie van al dat moois.

Between the hills of the Veluwe and the floodplains of the Nederrijn lies Doorwerth Castle. A beautiful castle in a beautiful location. Originally mainly used as a hunting lodge. Once privately owned by the Bentinck family. Now a museum about the different periods of the castle, its destruction, reconstruction and current function. You can take a nice walk around the castle. There is also something for children to do. The gardens are also beautiful and in the restaurant on the grounds you can eat or drink coffee inside or outside on the terrace. A number of barn swallows nest in the gatehouse. This film gives an impression of all that beauty. We were there on 21 August 2024.
