Once, the great sage Vyasa
Once, the great sage Vyasa sought the help of Lord Ganesha to write down the epic Mahabharata. Understanding the enormity of the task, Ganesha agreed, but on one condition: Vyasa must recite the epic without pausing. Vyasa, in turn, made Ganesha promise to understand every verse before writing it down. This allowed Vyasa to think ahead while Ganesha deciphered complex verses.
As the narration progressed, Ganesha’s writing instrument broke. Not wanting to break his promise, Ganesha broke off his own tusk and continued writing with it. This act of dedication and sacrifice by Ganesha symbolizes the importance of perseverance and the pursuit of knowledge despite obstacles.
