There are four directions around Awaji Station: Kyoto Kawaramachi, Kitasenri, Osaka Umeda, and Tengachaya. At Awaji Station, the up and down lines are not lined up horizontally, but are separated vertically into upper and lower levels. The next stations are Shimo-Shinjo Station, Kamishinjo Station, Kunijima Station, and Nishinakajima Minamikata Station, which are very common horizontally arranged stations, so you have to change the vertical and horizontal direction along the way. When I was photographing this construction work, it felt like Awaji Station was the head of an octopus with two legs extending in each direction. Naturally, I feel that this is how the construction work was designed to make the elevated structure so as not to stop or interfere with train service. When I look at it and take pictures like this, it sometimes feels like I'm building an amusement park, and sometimes it feels like a puzzle, wondering what to do with this place. Please take a look at the current construction progress, which was taken throughout this time.

In the past, Awaji Station (though it is said to have opened in 1921) didn't have any buildings or apartments like it does now, and when I think about it now, I don't think the route was complicated. Time has passed, and about 100 years have passed, and Awaji Station has become what it is today. Additionally, the area around Awaji is densely packed with houses, roads are full of one-way streets where vehicles cannot pass each other, railroad crossings are slow to open, there are occasional accidents resulting in injuries, and the railroad lines become a wall, making it difficult to move between east and west. I was there. As part of a plan to resolve this issue, construction work on elevating the bridge began around 2008, but it has not yet been completed and 16 years have passed since then. It's really long.
