Food service workers to receive annual pay increases over three years under progressive wage model

Pay raises for food service workers are on the cards, with the sector set to come under the Progressive Wage Model. It's hoped the salary increases and career progression will attract more to join the industry and ease the manpower crunch. About 12,000 full-time food service workers will see their pay rise to at least $1,750 from next month. This will eventually increase to reach over $2,000 in 2025. As announced in Budget 2023, employers can get help with co-funding up to 75% for wages up to $2,500.
