Potentially BIG News for Student Loan Forgiveness

As of early March 2021, student loan forgiveness will NOT be taxed as income. This could be incredible news for anyone using an income-based loan repayment plan (like IBR, PAYE or REPAYE) for a large student loan (doctors, dentists, optometrists, chiropractors, audiologists, pharmacists, etc.). Currently, the provision for tax-free loan forgiveness is set to expire at the end of 2025, but there is some talk that it may be extended.
