On June 14th, 1994, the New York Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to break a 54-year championship drought. Mark Messier scored the game-deciding goal in the second period and Brian Leetch became the first American-born player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy.
