Six-time All-American and National Champion
Six-time All-American and National Champion Shelvin Garrett II will take his biggest leap yet. Garrett qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials with a career-best distance of 15.97 meters, which ranks 18th among the qualifiers.
"It's always something I wanted to do, but initially you go to a D3 [school], you kind of just, I won't say, limit your thinking, but you don't really expect as much, I would say," Garrett said. "So I definitely always worked for it, and kept it in the back of my mind."
This is a rare opportunity as the Beloit native is only the fifth Warhawk on record and first in over a decade to compete on this stage.
