This is part 1 of
This is part 1 of 2 showing how a typical LCD projector works, using a projector from a used up rear projection TV.
You will see how the optical system works in this part, from the special mirrors used to let some color light through, but reflect others, and the lens systems which produces light uniformity, as well as tinted lenses to help true up some colors.
Part 2 will continue with the image assembly, including the projection lenses, the prizm that combines the three colors of the displays, to the output cast on a wall.
