In this video I teach you how to use 5 modal verbs and what they mean
1⃣ Can:
Shows an ability to do something (to be able to)
Asks questions/permission in an INFORMAL way
2⃣ Could:
Shows a PAST ability (something I was able to do before, but can’t now)
Asks questions/permission in a MORE FORMAL way than can
Shows FUTURE POSSIBILITIES (something that may happen in the future)
3⃣ Can:
Makes arrangements with people (would you like to go swimming?)
Asks FORMAL questions/permission
4⃣ Should:
Gives advice (you should exercise more)
Likely situations (things we thing are true)
5⃣ Must:
Things you HAVE TO DO (laws/rules)
It’s important you learn how to say these words correctly!
