GaN Systems Class D Amplifier and Power Supply

This video is about GaN Systems Class D Amplifier and Power Supply eval kit.  I'll show the boards that came in this Gan Systems eval and talk about the specs and why heat sinks are not needed.  

This Class D amplifier uses GaN FETs from GaN Systems, and the AC/DC Power Supply also uses GaN FETs from GaN systems.  The Power Supply is built in 2 stages; a PFC stage to make sure power factor is good and it helps with EMI, and the second stage is an LLC converter which provides two isolated voltage rails.  Class D Amplifiers are very efficient and can be made much smaller than a Class A or A/B amplifiers of the same power.  Also, this eval kit was provided free of charge - although I was not paid to do this video and the eval came with no strings attached.  #ClassDamplifier #GaNsystems #GaNpowersupply #GaNPFC
