Bicuspid Aortic Valve (BAV) and Aortic Stenosis

Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is a defect in which the aortic valve has only two cusps (instead of three). Over time, the two cusps can thicken and lead to a narrowing of the aortic valve (known as aortic stenosis).
