Luxurious yachts symbolize not just wealth, but power too. Since celebrities in entertainment, sports and business have it both, owning a yacht becomes a matter of status among these immensely affluent.
A love for the sea is what all those celebrities have in common, plus a need to escape constant snapshots from paparazzi. On their own private yachts, they get to relax and be themselves, also spending some quality time with their friends and family. However, while some celebrities have more than one, others have never owned any.
Chief among them are Beyoncé, who is known for chartering yachts, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who has previously holidayed on some yachts owned by his celebrity friends. At the same time, some celebrities have also sold their yachts. These include Va Bene, which was owned by Eric Clapton, while Seven Seas was sold by Steven Spielberg.
Celebrities just don’t settle for your average yacht. Instead, they continue to flex on their peers by either designing or buying the most incredible yachts you could think of. Superyachts are the perfect way for celebrities to escape life in the limelight for a while.
