Once upon a time, a woodcutter named Dakyanus would go to the Ephesus Mountains every day, sell the wood he collected until the evening, and earn his living in this way. One day, Dakyanus found an inscribed stone on the ground. Because he was interested, he took her with him to town. He took it to the town's grocery store and asked him to read it. After reading the grocery inscription:

-You are a poor man, you need money. Let me leave this lumberjack, this shop to you. As long as you show me where the stone comes out, the stone will be yours.

The woodcutter does not accept and

-I don't want your shop or anything. If you're going to read it, read this, or let someone else read it. when you say;

The grocer reads the inscription and says:

-Do not give the stone to anyone, you are ignorant, you will find three cubes of gold where this stone comes out. You will become rich and become king and even proclaim your deity.

The woodcutter laughed and went on with his work. But he couldn't help but think about the words that were said.

The next day, the woodcutter started to dig up the places where the stone came out. He enlarged the hole by sliding soil from under a brick hole and found three cubes of gold in a cellar. He hesitated to take the gold immediately and started to carry them gradually every day. Because the woodcutter is a very benevolent person, he decided to help the poor and do charity work for the town.

Then the king of the time died. At that time, the kings were chosen by the people. Dakyanus came to mind when thinking of whom to choose as a king. People,

He helps the poor, he does not need a state budget.

This idea was accepted and Dakyanus was elected king. When Dakyanus became a very famous king in time, he started to consider himself great and wanted to declare his godhood. One day, when he gathered his queens and was about to announce his decision, a fly was infested. The fly landed in the king's ear, eye, nose, and mouth.

However, the king

- Friends! A fly is preventing me from speaking, I would like to cut it short. I declare my divinity.

Hearing this, six of the viziers immediately jumped up;

But we have a god. It's hard for us to believe in a second god with him.

King Dakyanus got angry and expelled them from his presence. Fearing that he would do a greater evil, the six viziers left the palace and fled the city. When they came to the place where the current Girls' Gymnazi (Kızıl Gedik) is, they saw a shepherd with his dog and told about the incident. Shepherd:

-My master is making similar claims, and I want to run away. I will come with you.

They all entered the present Cave of the Seven Sleepers and fell into a deep sleep.

The soldiers searched the Ephesus Mountains, but could not find them. When they woke up after many years, they felt that they were very hungry and one of them went to the city to buy bread. At that time, Dakyanus died and new kings wondered where the treasures of this rich king were. In this respect, with an order given to the people, whoever finds a coin belonging to that period, they are told to catch it and bring it to the palace. When the baker saw the money of that period, he was suspicious of the man's hair, beard and clothes and informed the palace about the situation. The police immediately caught the man and ordered them to show him where he came from. But when they arrived, the door of the cave was closed again by the order of the god and was never opened again.

It is rumored that the seven sleepers, who were called the Eshab-ı Kehf and thought to have stayed in the cave for 300 years, slept for how many years: The shepherd dog next to them changed their coat every year. The place where he slept was found and it was understood from the feathers lying on top of each other.
