Easy Kumquat Jam Recipe

Kumquat(Golden Orange), is a tiny orange like edible fruit that is native to Southeast Asia since around 12th century.
Kamquat tree is very easy to grow.   This citrus fruit is the size of an Olive and is  a great source of Vitamin C.

Jam instructions:
After boiling the fruit for 10 minutes, rinse and then use your kitchen scale to determine the weight of the fruit.

⚖ Measuring Tips:
500 grams Fruit
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Boiling Water
1/2 Lemon/Lime
1/4 Tblsp Cloves

⚖ This Recipe:
2500 Grams Fruit
5 Cups Sugar
5 Cups Boiling Water
3 Lemons/Limes
1 Tblsp Cloves

1- Clean and wash all the Kumquats.
2- Soak them in cold water overnight.
3- Use a small fork to pierce all the Kamquats.
4- Use a large pot and add boiling water.
5- Add the fruits and wait for the water to boil. Stir and allow to boil together for 10 minutes.
6- Use a large strainer, empty the pot contents and rinse the fruits with cold water.
7- Use a kitchen scale to weigh the fruit and use the measurement tips to follow the next step.
8- In this video, 2500 Grams of fruit was used as per the measurement tips.
9- Add boiling water, and sugar as per measurement of the fruit to the pot and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add the Cloves and bring to boil.
Set your timer for  10 minutes of boiling and stir occasionally.
10- Add the fruit and stir.
Add the lemon/lime slices and wait for it to boil, then reduce the heat to low to medium.
Cook the fruit in the syrup for 15-20 minutes, depending on how thick you prefer the jam.
11- Turn off the heat and allow the jam to rest and cool down.
12- Use glass jars to store the jam. Leave the jars open and rest for 1 hour before sealing and refrigerating or keeping in a cool place.
