Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park has been developed in the memory of the great socialist Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia by the Lucknow Development Authority in the Vipin Khand area of Gomti Nagar area. There are a total of four courtyards. There are ticket counters at all the entry gates. The total area of the park is 76 acres. All the entry courtyards are equipped with adequate parking space, each of which has the capacity to park 60-100 vehicles. There are public utility blocks at all the four entry points of the park. To meet the requirement of social and cultural gatherings, there is a stage with a main diameter of 30 meters. This amphitheatre is located adjacent to the entry courtyard number two. The clock tower is also located near this amphitheatre. There is a provision to reserve this amphitheatre in two categories. The first category is non-commercial and the rent under this category is Rs. 11,000 per day. While the second category is commercial, where Rs. 21,000 has to be paid per day. Keeping in mind the principles of the four pillar rule of Dr.Ram Manohar Lohia, four huge pillars of 25 meters height have been constructed. A flower garden is situated in an area of 2 acres just near the main memorial area. This garden is always blooming with seasonal flowers, a Baradari is also situated in the middle of the garden.
A unique system of rainwater harvesting has been installed in the park. A recharge trench of 805 meters and 29 deep bores have been installed to complete the rainwater harvesting system. Mainly covered with green trees and flowers, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park has more than 50 different species of trees. About 15000 trees are planted in the park including both small and big trees. The park has two jogging tracks which are made of sand soil. The first track is 365 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, while the second track is 400 metres long and 2.4 metres wide.
