Sac State Says: The “Becoming” campus murals are more than just paintings

A group of artists composed
A group of artists composed of students, alumni, staff and guest artists all worked together to create new murals along Sacramento State’s Ernest E. Tschannen Engineering Teaching and Research Building.
The project was formed as a yearly commitment by Sac State to be an antiracism and inclusive campus back in 2021. The theme for this year’s murals was “Becoming” which signified Sac State’s effort in becoming an antiracism, inclusive and anti-oppression campus.
In honor of the unveiling, students discussed the significance of the “Becoming” murals and even mentioned some of their favorite pieces and what the theme means to them.
