Actin filaments are thin flexible
Actin filaments are thin flexible proteins that make up part of a cell’s cytoskeleton. Because of the process known as treadmilling, actin filaments add monomers to their plus ends at the same rate that they lose monomers from their minus ends, causing the filaments to remain the same size.
