In this video I have first detailed what biosphere reserves are and on what objectives these biosphere reserves have been recognized bu UNESCO all over the world. UNESCO has also introduced the Man and the Biosphere Programme under which 11 biosphere reserves of India are included. In total there are 18 biosphere reserves in India. The biosphere reserves have been differentiated into 3 zones - Core Area, Buffer Area and Transition Zone which different levels of protection in order to meet the objectives of social, economic and environmental development in addition to the preservation of cultural identity of the tribals living in these areas since thousands of years.
