A New way to Travel Khammam - Vijayawada Highway
This exceptional road is unique in its design, boasting a straight path with no twists or turns, resembling an airplane landing runway. It has received the green signal from the government for construction as part of the Bharatmala Paryojana program, which aims to enhance connectivity across the nation.
Currently, traveling between Vijayawada and Khammam involves detours through various towns, adding considerable time and distance to the journey.
On average people travel 125KM distance which requires 2.5 hours to 3 hours of travelling time. However, this new Khammam-Vijayawada Greenfield Highway, approved by the Central Government, aims to reduce travel time to a maximum of one and a half hours.
As an extension of the Nagpur-Vijayawada National Highway, it will effectively shorten the distance between the two cities by 40 kilometers.
The construction of this highway will feature a four-lane economic corridor, utilizing the access control method. Three packages have been finalized for construction, with two of them assigned to the contracting company MEIL.
