With already more than 10 defamation criminal cases pending against himself, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi invites another one. Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi shared an image with ‘Adani’ written as an acronym of sorts with letters of the names of the leaders. The picture targeted the Central Government over the Adani issue with names of various leaders. In his tweet, Gandhi mentioned the names of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Anil K Antony.“They hide the truth, that's why they mislead every day!”
“The question remains the same - whose ₹20,000 crore benami money is in Adani's companies?"
The tweet in no time triggered another political squabble. Assam CM Himanta Sarma responded to Gandhi’s tweet, stating that they never questioned him about the allegation against him on the very same day. “It was our decency to have never asked you, where have you concealed the proceeds of crime from the Bofors and National Herald Scams.
And how you allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to escape the clutches of Indian justice multiple times. Anyway, we will meet in the Court of Law.” Addressing a Press Conference on April 9, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he will file a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over ‘Adani’ tweet. Notably, Rahul Gandhi was granted bail by the Surat District and Sessions Court till April 13 in the ‘Modi Surname’ defamation case
