It's time to talk about one of the most polarizing tropes in existence - but, unusually, this trope is highly polarizing on a PERSONAL level, as most people seem to simultaneously love and hate it! This is a trope that can be done really well or really badly, and when it's done well it can work REALLY well, but when it's done badly it can be tedious at best and downright insulting at worst.
