"It Makes No Difference" ~ The Band

“It Makes No Difference,” is from The Band’s 1976 album, Northern Lights – Southern Cross, and it is one of my two favorite songs from that album,(the other being “Acadian Driftwood”).  There are two reasons why I cherish this song.  First, it has to be the saddest song ever from The Band, and one of the saddest songs ever in rock, according to The Rolling Stone.  Second,  of all the many songs which Rick Danko sang, none better showcase his vocal range and  powerful delivery, nor make you feel the weight of sorrow in knowing "there's no love as true as the love that dies untold."
