Pedernales State Park above the falls 2023 05 30

Fly Fishing  at Pedernales State Park on the Pedernales River above the falls.  This was a new section of the park / river for me, so I had to do a bit of exploring to find good sections of the river upstream from the Falls.  I focused a lot on trying to get a carp, but no success with the drag and drop technique for carp.  Got some great exercise bouldering around the rock fields to find fishable pools of water.  Hopefully this video gives you a feel for what fishing above the falls is like and what you would find.  Caught a few perch and a few small Guadalupe Bass. It was a real adventure to get to some of these fish.  There is no wading rule in this section of the river, so I  had to fish 100% from the bank.  Still had a great morning enjoying the outdoors with my daughter.  I hope you will enjoy joining us on the river this morning.
