My last 2 videos were about adding an integrated Apple CarPlay to the XKR, which has encouraged me to add other extras to the car.
I decided to install a Kawa Dash cam in the Jaguar XKR , which is something I’d been thinking about for some time. But had put the idea aside as it seemed too complicated for a beginner like me.
Let me put that concept to bed for good - It’s one of the easiest installs of anything I have attempted with the car.
Another reason for putting off the install was that I didn’t want some big black box obstructing the view out the windscreen, nor something that just simply looked ugly.
Something else that I had been concerned about was the quality of the video that would be produced by the dash cam.
I had previously tried a 4K dash Cam and the footage was simply horrible, I guess due to the heavy compression.
It was sent back
But after I saw the ultra small Kawa Mini 3 at 2k, I was hooked. The price was about $50.00 so I took a risk with the image quality. It may not be ultra sharp but is fine to recognize number plates - not too bad at night either.
