In this video Maxx shares a presentation from Slippery Rock-Con 2019. Slippery Rock-Con is an annual convention that was held this year at Camp Bucoco in Pennsylvania. The convention supports the Slippery Rock Public Library. It has table top gaming, board games, miniatures and larps as well as cosplay contests and vendors, various talks, presentations and workshops. If you are able to, I highly suggest checking it out.
First and foremost, larp is a great hobby filled with wonderful times and great people. It will provide useful skills and provide a lifetime of enjoyment.
It is very easy to get wrapped up and immersed in the excitement that a larp can bring. Which unfortunately is also why it's easy for bad people to take advantage of others.
You would be foolish to believe that larp is any different from other groups when it comes to crime and abuse. Larps are not some untouchable island of goodness and happiness, they are very much just like any other hobby.
This video addresses specifically of some things a parent should be aware of at larps, not all, but also is good advice for anyone attending a game.
