continuous grinding/ scraping sound from engine of 2009 Lancer Mitsubishi Ralliart CJ series.
Mechanic confirmed after taking the rocker cover that the timing chain was lose.
The owner had over revved the car with the worn out timing chain causing slipped some teeth to throw the engine out of timing.
4B11 MiVEC Turbo
The noise coming from the engine is literally pistons touching the valves according to the mechanic. Needed to change the timing chain, adjust timing hoping there no damage made by short drive with this sound.
IF YOUR CAR MAKES A SOUND LIKE THIS KILL THE MOTOR IMMEDIATELY AND GET THE TIMING FIXED!!!!!
STOP driving the car with this noise.
