Richard Vickery sure doesn’t! “Your Lying Brain” will explore how our very own brains may not always be telling the truth, and he uncovers the intricate ways our brains are “deaf-blind”. Richard Vickery is a Associate Professor at UNSW in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, where he has pioneered innovative cross-disciplinary courses. As a researcher, his groundbreaking research includes the use of electrophysiological recordings to capture real-time neural data, which he integrates with psychophysical and behavioural studies to decode the brain's language of touch. His work has led to high-impact publications and even a patent. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
