This video demonstrates how to use a 24LC16B external EEPROM with a PIC Microcontroller. The external EEPROM 24LC16B can be used as external storage for configuration or persistent data. For when your microcontroller just does not have enough EEPROM or flash storage.
We will be loading data into the EEPROM from the Microcontroller RAM to the 24LC16B EEPROM as as a external peripheral via the I2C interface.
"24LC16B is a 16 Kbit Electrically Erasable PROM. The device is organized as eight blocks of 256 x 8-bit memory with a 2-wire serial interface" -- Datasheet
